Pamela S Thibodeaux

Pamela, welcome to PM Inc's Blogger, we are happy to have you here. Please tell us a little about yourself?

Thank you so much for having me!

I am a mother, grandmother and in my day job, a Licensed Insurance Agent. I sell home, life and Medicare Insurance. I’ve been writing for nearly 40 yrs. and published for 20+.

What do you find is the hardest part about writing and promoting yourself?
Finding the time to write consistently and the money to market/promote effectively.

What do you do to unwind?

READ. Mostly. I also like to camp and fish, walk and dance. Sit with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and bask in nature – whether that is at home, on a beach or in the mountains. My favorite place in the whole world to visit is Bandera, Texas.

How do you make time for 'You'?

By doing those things mentioned above, even if that means leaving the computer behind – which I have been known to do for a long weekend.

I noticed that you are an author, editor, promotions expert, speaker and life coach, how do you keep up with yourself?

Who says I do? LOL! Seriously the thing that helps me juggle everything is being organized. I have a monthly planner & a ‘To Do’ pad on my desk and I use them  faithfully!

Do you enjoy writing articles or books more?
I simply enjoy writing. Articles for a local publication are quick, easy and pay well. Short stories are also quick and relatively easy to write but not always quick to sell. I write the blog posts for the company I work for. I just love to write! Give me a topic or an interview candidate and I enjoy gathering what I need and presenting it in a fun yet informative way.

Do you have a preferred genre?
I write Edgy Inspirational but read just about anything Romance. I also read a lot of spiritual non-fiction.

Audio books, love them or hate them? Do you feel that they do your stories justice?

I enjoy audio books on occasion. If done well, an audio book is the perfect way to reach broader audiences. I recently had my first published novel, Tempered Hearts released in audio and I’m as thrilled with it as I am with any new book or any previously published work I re-release in a new venue. Audio books are beginning to garner larger and larger pieces of the overall publishing pie so I would never disparage an author having their book(s) done in audio.

Pamela, I personally must say how impressed I am at the mention of God and Blessings on both your site and emails. Did you have a personal experience you wanted to share?

I began writing in 1982 – romance; plain and simple romance. In 1989 I recommitted my life to Christ and committed my writing to Him. My faith is what has pulled me through some of the toughest times in my life, including my husband’s death 10 yrs. ago. I am nothing without my faith….well I wouldn’t say ‘nothing’ but so much stronger, more patient and more loving when I stay connected to the source of Love – for me that’s God.

Thank you once again for being here with us today and we look forward to having you back during the month long 11th Anniversary Celebration here at Personalized Marketing Inc.

Thank you so much for having me and CONGRATULATIONS on your 11-year Anniversary! I certainly wish you the best of luck and God’s blessings for another successful 11 yrs and many more after that!

Wonderful, interesting and fun interview! Pamela, I enjoyed learning more about you, and only pray I can someday be as organized as you are. LOL! I love your ability to multi-task so effectively.

Nice interview! Authors write for many reasons. Writers write because they NEED to. Pam reinforces that and I also love that she freely gives credit for her attitude–to her faith! I have a short book on Audio but sales of “Hot Stuff” haven’t matched my expectations so far. With fewer readers to compete for, and everyone, it seems, too busy to sit and read, I did think audio was the solution??
